FEEL THE POWER OF THE FORCE! ENJOY A GALACTIC EVENT JAM-PACKED WITH OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD ENTERTAINMENT AND SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY’S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS ATTRACTIONSWEEKENDS, MAY 16 TO JUNE 15, 2014

As we move full steam ahead into the New Year, many people are making good on their New Year’s Resolutions to travel more, spend more time with their families and try new things. February and March are popular times for newlyweds to get away for their first romantic getaway of the new year, and with its warm temperatures, winter and spring themed events and plenty to do, Orlando is a great spot for a romantic getaway.

We’ve put together 16 of our favorite spots for a romantic date night, unforgettable proposal or quality time with your sweetheart. We’ve found a unique combination of classic Orlando venues and some lesser-known (but just as great) local places that Orlando residents like to keep to themselves.

For Music Loving Couples

Orlando is a hot spot for everything music, from vintage record stores and live music on a patio cafe to sold-out arena concerts and performing arts. If music is a foundation in your relationship, you’ll have to check out some of these incredible venues during your romantic Orlando getaway:

Amway Center

The Amway is where top recording artists put on their shows for music-loving Orlando residents. In February and March, the Amway will host greats like Andrew Bocelli, Michael Buble, Travis Scott, and Lionel Richie. If you want to attend a big concert while you’re here, the newly renovated Amway Center is the place to do it.

CityWalk’s Rising Star

CityWalk’s Rising Star bar redefines karaoke night. Sign up to sing your favorite song, get up on a real stage and sing your heart out with a real band and backup singers to help. Drinks are pricey, but it is a unique and fun party atmosphere that brings people together over good music and strong drinks.

House of Blues

In our opinion, there is nothing like a concert at House of Blues. This iconic music venue is small enough that no matter where you are, you’ve got incredible views of the stage. Artists like Lyfe Jennings, Dylan Scott and the band 311 will put on memorable shows during February. House of Blues offers impressive happy hour deals during the week and a gospel brunch on Sundays that you can’t miss!

RNR Record Shop

If you’d prefer to thumb through vintage records instead of attending a high-energy concert, RNR Record Shop is the place for you. This chill, no-frills vinyl record shop is a perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon with your love and browse the extensive selection of records, CD’s, and other collectibles.

Country Thunder 2019

Put on your boots and cowboy hats and bring your sweetie down yonder to the Osceola Heritage Park. This annual music festival features top country recording artists like Toby Keith, Luke Bryan, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Luke Combs. The festival takes place March 22-24 and offers both camping and glamping options for those who want to get the full experience

Our vacation rental recommendations for couples that love music: Hollywood Dreams and Goofy’s Grotto

For Couples Who Appreciate A Good Brew

Kissimmee has no shortage of unique breweries, wine bars and other places to enjoy a good cocktail. If you prefer to skip the traditional bar experience and want something a little more local and authentic, you’ll have to add these 21+ hangouts to your romantic Orlando getaway:

Crooked Can

Crooked Can is about 30 minutes from Kissimmee, but it is worth the trip. Tucked away under Oak Trees in Downtown Winter Garden, this local brewery offers inside and outside seating, an impressive selection of handcrafted brews, and live music on the weekends. It is located in an adorable market that features a dozen other vendors, ranging from a pizza place and smoothie shop to sushi and a gourmet mac and cheese stop.

Dead Lizard Brewery Company

Craft beer lovers appreciate the industrial feel of the taproom, and order flights of craft beer to enjoy with friends. The large open space is surrounded by metal and concrete and offers plenty of seating, an extensive beer list and a friendly staff that can help you find the perfect brew for you. Dead Lizard Brewing Company is located about 25 minutes from most of Magical Stays’s vacation rentals.

Hidden Speakeasies

If you like a little mystery with your brew, you’ll love discovering some of these hidden speakeasies, some of which require a password to get in! Three Sister Speakeasy is a modern hangout with an eclectic menu, offers a pet-friendly patio and is located in Downtown Kissimmee. You’ll need a password to get into the 1920’s inspired speakeasies like Hanson’s Shoe Repair or Park Social. The Pharmacy is another fun, hidden hangout in Orlando, and if you can find the door, you’re in! If you’d like to learn more about how to get into these underground spots, contact us!

Wine Tastings

If you prefer grapes over wheat, you’ll have no issue enjoying a glass (or bottle) of wine in some of the area’s coolest and most romantic wine bars and wine-themed events. Vintage Vino offers wine flights, comfy armchairs and cheese plates to complete your romantic evening. Wine Bar George in Celebration is a great spot to sip wine and people watch, and Imperium Food and Wine consistently gets rave reviews for their small plates and appetizers.

Our vacation rental recommendations for couples that love a good brew: Disney’s Beach House and Audez Tropical Haven

For “Foodie” Couples

One of the best parts of being on vacation is trying all of the new food and stumbling upon local restaurants that you can’t find back home. If you and your sweetie enjoy sharing a meal together and trying out new places, you’ll find an abundance of options in Orlando. But, we have to be honest, you will have to search a little bit to find the hidden gems. Orlando and Kissimmee especially is a haven for chain restaurants, but if you know where to look, you can find some excellent local hangouts.

Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ

While it may not be the most romantic place to eat in Kissimmee, it’s a must-try when you are in the area. The little house-converted-to-BBQ-heaven in downtown Kissimmee offers mouth-watering brisket, homemade styles, sweet, sweet tea, and friendly staff. Portions are big, prices are fair, and it feels intimate and homey.

Woodsby’s Cafe

If you’re after a hearty, All-American Breakfast (that doesn’t feel like Denny’s Or IHop), you’ll love Woodsby’s Cafe. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you, the food that comes out of this kitchen feels like it was made by a loving grandma on Saturday morning. We recommend the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette or Brittany’s Loaded Hash Browns. Monday through Friday they are open until 7:30 so you can satisfy your “breakfast for dinner” craving.

World Showcase At Epcot

If you are craving Mexican and your love is dying for Chinese, there is only one way to compromise: Epcot’s World Showcase. Walk hand and hand through the park and try samples of food (and drinks!) from around the world.

Better Than Sex Dessert

If it is ultimate romance you’re after, you have to swing into this dimly lit dessert place in downtown Orlando. Snuggle into a booth (pull a curtain for extra privacy) order delectable desserts with names that might make you blush. Designed to bring couples close through the beauty of sweet dessert, this sexy dessert spot is a must-try during a romantic Orlando getaway.

If you prefer to keep your dessert experience “rated G,” Kissimmee has old-fashioned ice cream stores, self-serve ice cream shops, bakeries, cafes and other delicious options to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Our vacation rental recommendations for couples that love to eat: Seven Dwarfs Escape and Sunny Oaks Poolside

As we move full steam ahead into the New Year, many people are making good on their New Year’s Resolutions to travel more, spend more time with their families and try new things. For Adventurous Couples

If your idea of a romantic getaway is trying new things and stepping out of your comfort zone together, Orlando has plenty of ways to get your heart racing and try something that might scare you a little bit:

Swamp Tours

You can’t come to Florida and not pay a visit to the swamp! Book an airboat tour or swap tour and head out into the water to spot some of Florida’s most feared animals, gators! A trained tour guide will take you out into the trenches, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spot massive gators on the shore or creeping in the water below. Terrifying? Maybe. Safe? Absolutely. Doing scary/thrilling things together just gives you two another reason to huddle close together and hold hands through the adventure!

Kayak/Paddleboards

For a day out on the water that doesn’t involve gators, sign up or a paddleboarding tour or rent kayaks and glide down one of Orlando’s peaceful rivers. Pack a picnic lunch, lather on the sunscreen and take in the natural sights and sounds of the area. The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek is a great stop for all of your kayak, paddleboarding, and canoe rental needs.

Super Shot At Old Town

Adrenaline junkies should head straight to the Super Shot at Old Town for a high-speed thrill ride that you’ll never forget. Strap in, hold your sweetheart’s hand, and wait to be shot 300+ feet into the air like a slingshot at speeds of over 80 miles an hour! If you are a couple that likes to try new things, face fears and experience high-speed thrills, you’ll love the Super Shot.

Our vacation rental recommendations for couples that love adventure: Mickey’s Family Fun House and Minnie’s Movie House

If you’re looking for good reasons to visit Orlando in 2019, you’re in the right spot. January is a time when people often feel excited, energized and excited about the future. They make goals and plans and are
encouraged by the possibilities that the upcoming year will bring. Many people make New Year’s Resolutions that focus on their health, their finances, and their relationships. New habits are started, and old ones are squashed and this New Year becomes your year. But all too often we neglect to include travel and experiences into our plans for the year. Here are 13 reasons to visit Orlando in 2019:

#1 January

There’s no better way to start a brand new year than by going on vacation. The winter temps are mild, and most of the families who are here for Christmas have left by mid-January, so the parks aren’t as crowded,
and the traffic is bearable. Music icons like Billy Joel, Cher, and Johnny Mathis will be wooing audiences all month long at the Amway Center. Annual events like the Scottish Highland Games and a four-day
celebration of interactive technology hosted by the Orlando Science Center, make January a great time for art, music and culture enthusiasts to visit The City Beautiful.

#2 February

While the rest of the county is shoveling snow, families are heading to Florida for warm(er) temperatures and activities geared towards families, couples, and groups of friends. If your team makes it to the Super Bowl, there is no better place to catch the big game than in one of Orlando’s coolest sports bars, like the NBC Sports Bar and Grill at Universal’s CityWalk or the ESPN Sports Club at the Disney Boardwalk. If you’re looking to surprise your sweetie for Valentine’s Day, Disney has many magical proposal options that are
popular in February, such as popping the question at Cinderella’s Royal Table. February is also a favorite time for wine festivals and Orlando’s Annual Chili-cook off. Crowds at the parks are minimal, weather is decent, and you can find some great deals for President’s Day and Valentine’s Day.

#3 March

Spring break is a great time to visit Orlando. The sun is out but it is not yet the peak of summer. Most of the locals have headed out of town, making it a perfect time for visitors to come explore. March means the International Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot and country music fans’ favorite event: Country Thunder at the Osceola Heritage Park. If you are passionate about celebrating your Irish Heritage on St. Patrick’s Day (or you just love Irish beer and a reason to party) there are many Irish Pubs in the area that offer live music and entertainment to celebrate the occasion.

#4 April

We aren’t going to lie, April can get a little busy in Orlando. People are itching for an escape as they enter the middle of the year, and many travelers love the idea of spending Easter in a luxury vacation home. The weather is exceptional during this time, and many families skip the craziness of the parks altogether and spend time in the pool. The run Disney Star Wars marathon weekend is also in April. Other fun events include the APC National Pie Championship, The SeaWorld Seven Seas Festival, and an Easter Sunrise Service at Bok Tower Gardens. It may be busy in April, but with a little plan and preparation, you can fill an April vacation with fun for the whole family.

#5 May

If you bring nothing else to Florida for your May vacation, bring sunscreen. There is no beating around the bush, Orlando is H-O-T in May. Thankfully though, the Sunshine State has plenty of ways to beat the heat. Vacation homes with pools are an obvious reason people come to Orlando in May and offer a cool retreat from the scorching sun. There are splash pads, water parks, and indoor activities where the AC is on full blast all around the city. May is the first month where Disney’s water parks Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are open consistently, and the parks are open for longer starting this month. Indoor attractions like Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum, Wonderworks on I-Drive, the Orlando Science Center, a ride on the SunRail to get some ice cream in downtown Winter Park, Dave and Buster’s, or a walk-through tour of the Sea Life Aquarium provide hours of entertainment away from the sun. If you are coming to Florida specifically for the heat and sunshine, you’re only an hour or so away from the beach. One thing you can be sure of when visiting Florida in May is that it will rain. You’ll appreciate these short, mid-afternoon storms as they cool
everything down (and often send people running out of the parks, making shorter lines for you!)

#6 June

Another hot month, but Orlando in the summer is unlike anywhere else this time of year. The Silver Spurs Rodeo takes place the first weekend in June in Kissimmee, and Clermont hosts Summerfest, an annual event
featuring food and wine, grape stomping, live music, and work from local artists. SeaWorld hosts Festival of The Sea in June, an outdoor event compete with seafood tastings, a kids area, and arts and crafts vendors. Disney’s water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach) are popular during this time, as well as free
splash pads at community parks like Lakefront Park in Kissimmee.

#7 July

Orlando takes Independence Day seriously, and the first weekend in July is an incredible time to visit. The red, white and blue fireworks show at Disney is a must-see, along with patriotic parties at Universal Studios, Seaworld and Legoland. Downtown Orlando also takes the 4th of July seriously, putting together an all-American fireworks display around the iconic Lake Eola fountain. Red, Hot and Boom is another popular event featuring music, food, brews, and incredible fireworks. Did we mention vacation homes with pools are another popular reason to come to Florida in the middle of summer?

#8 August

Just because the summer season is coming to an end does not mean you will be able to escape the heat in August. It is still very hot and very humid in August, and the crowds at the parks are still ranked as moderate
to peak times. If you have a vacation home near the parks, you can always go in the morning, leave at the hottest part of the day, come home for a swim and a nap and head back out when the sun goes down. Lovers of 90’s pop music will be excited that the Backstreet Boys will be performing in mid-August, following New Kids on The Block in July. Celebrate National Beer Day (Aug 3) at the Dead Lizard Brewing Company, Crooked Can or Sea Dog Brewing Company.

#9 September

Usually, by September the kids are back in school, which makes it a lot less crowded at the parks. If you aren’t going to be in the area for Halloween, never fear: you can partake in Halloween festivities starting in
the middle of September. Even though it won’t feel like fall in September, there are many fall-themed events to experience. Corn mazes as Long and Scott’s farm, trying secret menu items at over 50 of Orlando’s most popular restaurants during Magical Dining Month, the Latin Jazz and Art Festival, Orlando City soccer games, and movie nights under the stars are just a few things to add to your September trip itinerary. The hottest artists in Christian Music rock the stage at Rock The Universe at Universal Studios and at Praise Wave at SeaWorld. You can also experience the Lakeridge Winery Wine and Cheese Festival, Vintage Market Days in Kissimmee, and the spooky Haunt at Old Town to get you in the Halloween spirit.

#10 October

If you are lucky, the temperatures in October just might get down to the 70s and you will see all the locals break out their sweaters and boots. October is a fun time to visit Orlando, as there are many fall and Halloween themed events (both scary and kid-friendly) to try. If you enjoy paying to have the daylights scared out of you, you’ll love Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios; scare zones, haunted houses, live performances and other creepy events to scare your socks off. For those who don’t like to be scared, more
family-friendly events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney, SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular, Winter Garden’s HalloweenFest and trick-or-treating around some of the area’s most beautifully decorated neighborhoods offer fun ways to stock up on sweets!

#11 November

November is a great time to visit Orlando, as the temperatures are finally falling and it is starting to really feel like fall. You’ll see the first signs of Christmas around the theme parks, but there are some great options for Thanksgiving, especially for those who don’t want to cook. Places like The Alfond Inn at Rollins, Art Smith’s Homecoming Kitchen at Disney Springs, or The Edison at Disney Springs offer a delicious Thanksgiving meal with all of the fixin’s, but make sure you make reservations way ahead of time to get in. Everyone’s favorite ice sisters are back on the big screen in early November in Frozen 2, and you can watch it at the luxury dine-in theatre at Disney Springs! Hello Dolly and The Jersey Boys Musicals will be showing at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Downtown Orlando is hosting its annual beer festival, and there are 7 Orlando Magic basketball games to see!

#12 December

There’s nothing like spending the holidays in Florida. Temps rarely drop below the 40’s, so while Floridians are bundled up in their winter gear, everyone else is out and about enjoying the attractions. Disney in December is straight up magical, and if you’ve never done Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, it should be a must for your 2019 holiday season. All of the surrounding theme parks completely transform in December, and you can find many local events to celebrate the closing of the year. In Celebration, there are carriage rides, “ice skating” and falling snow during the evenings. The beautiful thing about Orlando is its diversity, which means no matter what you celebrate, you can find a way to do it here. From Chanukah family festivals to Kwanzaa celebrations on Church Street in Downtown Orlando, your family can celebrate the holidays here! December means family gatherings and big meals for many, so reserving a vacation home makes it easy
for everyone to wake up together on Christmas morning.

9 Things To Do In Florida In The Fall

Lets be honest: Florida doesnt really participate in fall. It is common for the temperatures to stay in the high 80s and 90’s all the way through Thanksgiving, but we’re not complaining! Even though it doesn’t always feel like fall, there are plenty of fall-inspired activities to do. If youre planning a visit to the Orlando area in the next few months, check out some of these awesome activities and events that will get you into the fall mood!

The Spooky Stuff

If youre coming to Florida before, during, or after Halloween, youll probably want to experience some of the mysterious events and attractions that scare the socks off of the locals. From high-level scares at Halloween Horror Nights to some low-key frights, here are some of the coolest and creepiest Halloween attractions in the area:

Halloween Horror Nights

People come from all over the country to scare themselves silly at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. With designated scare zones all over the park, ten out-of-this-world themed haunted houses and an annual live show, Academy of Villains, guests will definitely experience terror at this annual event. If you are planning on spending a night or two at Halloween Horror Nights, consider staying in a vacation rental 20-30 minutes from the park to avoid crazy hotel prices and traffic.

The Haunt At Old Town

Kissimmee turns into a “ghost town” as Halloween rolls around, and Old Town hosts its own haunted experience. During the day, Old Town is ice cream shops, thrill rides, shops, restaurants and fun things to do. As the sun goes down, the ghouls come out, and Old Town turns into a haunted attraction that feels a little homier but no less terrifying.

A Petrified Forest

If you want to be scared silly out in the middle of nowhere, a haunted tour through the Petrified Forest is the way to go. Walk through the woods in small groups and experience the horror of maniacs and monsters around every corner. If you dare, experience the petrified path on a total eclipse night, where the rules change and the scare tactics go up a notch.

Orlando Halloween Pub Crawl

Orlando and its surrounding areas are  hot spots for cool bars and restaurants, many of which participate in Halloween and fall-themed pub crawls and food tours. From downtown Orlando to Kissimmee, Davenport and even Winter Park, visitors 21 and up can experience some cool ghouls and brews in the city’s holiday-themed pub crawls.

Greenwood Cemetery Moonlight Walking Tour

For something equal parts spooky and educational, the Greenwood Cemetery Tour takes you through a historic graveyard by the light of the moon. Follow your guide past 100+ gravesites of some of Orlando’s most notable icons. This spooky tour is free, but tickets are required. Tours run on a few select dates through October, November, and December.

Fun For The Whole Family

Lake Catherine Blueberries: Fall Maze & Pumpkin Patch

If Halloween isn’t your thing, or you won’t be here for the Halloween season, many local events are more fall-inspired, such as local pumpkin patches and blueberry farms. Pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hayrides and fall festivals give families a fun way to spend afternoons and evenings in the (slightly) cooler temps. Lake Catherine Farms is locally run and features an adorable general store that sells fresh blueberry lemonade, and even has a bar for handmade cocktails! There is a playground and plenty to do for kids and adults!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

This special event held at Magic Kingdom after hours and requires a separate park ticket. With a special Hocus-Pocus Live show, breathtaking Halloween fireworks show, trick or treating with Disney characters and a chance for kids to show off their costumes, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is the coolest, kid-friendly Halloween event in Orlando!

LEGOLAND Brick or Treat

Legoland is technically in Lakeland, about 45 minutes from Orlando and many of the areas most popular vacation homes. While it is a bit of a drive, it’s worth it for your Lego-loving family members. Legoland Brick or Treat is a trick-or-treating experience for kids and adults alike. Unlike Disney, you don’t need a separate ticket to get in on the kid-friendly ghoulish action. There are Halloween shows, a state of the art fireworks show and a chance to meet and greet some fun Halloween characters!

Relax Poolside

If you’re in Orlando for the fall, you have to spend at least a weekend soaking up the sun before heading back home. We have great luxury pool homes available for great rates in October and November, all of which put you a short drive from all of these fun Halloween inspired attractions!

The beautiful thing about Florida in the fall is that you can still lay out poolside, take the family to a local park, or enjoy the local attractions in your summer attire. Hotels book up quickly (and are usually at their peak prices) during this time because of all of the Halloween events, which is why fall is the perfect time to stay in a vacation home! While we can’t guarantee leaves to jump in or fireplace weather, we have sparkling pools and luxury homes to make your fall vacation one to remember!

The fact that you’re going the vacation home route vs. an overpriced hotel already shows what a smart and savvy traveler you are. However, picking the right vacation home is no easy task. You want to make sure it has the proper bed set up, the amenities you’re looking for, and that it’s in the location (and price range) that makes the most sense for your travel plans.

Here are five tips for picking the perfect vacation rental for your family, and ensuring you and your loved ones feel comfortable in your home-away-from-home.

The Beds

When picking the perfect rental, it’s important to start with the basics, such as where everyone is going to sleep. The number of bedrooms doesn’t always tell you what you need to know. Make sure you find out what size beds are in each bedroom, and what it really means when a home says it can sleep a specific number. A house that sleeps ten might be including a pull-out sofa or bunk beds, so make sure these sleeping arrangements are suitable for your traveling party. Great-grandma might not be too thrilled about climbing up on the top bunk each night for bed. If you’re coming with little ones, ask if the home has cribs or pack n plays for you to use. If not, you can always add one to your reservation to make sure your baby has a safe place to sleep.

Vacation homes have maximum occupancy standards for a reason, and attempting to cram more people into a smaller house never works out well. It only results in some people sleeping in uncomfortable places, and even worse, could result in a violation of your rental agreement. Avoid these problems altogether by picking a vacation home that has enough room for everyone.

The Neighborhood

Is it essential for you to be in a neighborhood that has amenities you can use, like a community pool and playground? How important is it to be in a gated community? Do you want to be in an apartment complex or residential neighborhood? Your preferences about the neighborhood will help you narrow down your choices for a vacation rental. Resort style neighborhoods like Emerald Isle and Windsor Hills offer upscale amenities such as resort-style pools, luxury clubhouses, athletic courts and game rooms. For something a little more low-key and local, residential neighborhoods like Indian Ridge Oaks or Rolling Hills can offer you the luxury vacation home experience while not feeling as touristy. It?s also important to ask questions about the distance from your vacation home to popular local attractions. There?s nothing worse than renting something in an unfamiliar area only to find out it’s 30 minutes from everywhere you want to be. Check local maps to make sure your vacation rental is close to the theme parks, restaurants, shopping and other attractions that your family is planning to see.

The Must Haves

Every family has a unique list of things that are “must haves” in their search for the perfect vacation rental. Some families require a pool, or kid-themed bedrooms, or a game room. Others are looking for something on the first floor, or with a specific number of bedrooms, or for a home that is pet-friendly. Your list of “must haves” is specific to your family, but there are some factors that all families can agree on that are non-negotiable. These are things like:

At the end of the day, not getting a kid-themed room probably won’t ruin your vacation. However, do your research to ensure your vacation rental has a strong history of satisfied guests, clean houses, and a professional management team.

The Nice-To-Haves

This is your vacation, and it only makes sense you’d want a vacation home that has that “wow” factor. Maybe it’s a private media room with reclining leather seats. Maybe it’s a stunning two-story floor plan with state of the art appliances. Whatever it is that you feel would really take your home up a notch, ask for it. You’d be surprised at what some of these modern vacation rentals have these days! And adding that extra element of luxury and fun could mean adding specialty packages, rentals, or services onto your booking to really upgrade your experience. Some of Magical Stays’s most popular “nice-to-haves” are

Since browsing hundreds of vacation homes can be a time-consuming task, this is where talking with a professional vacation management team can help. They know the inventory of houses like the back of their hands and can help pinpoint the exact home that has all off of your “must haves” and plenty of your nice-to-haves. The perfect vacation rental is the right combination of all of the things you need, plus a few extras that will make your vacation comfortable and convenient.

The Price

When it comes down to it, you’ve got to find the vacation home that fits your budget. Being honest about your price range upfront can help you and your vacation planner narrow down the homes that are right for you. Staying in a vacation home eliminates many unnecessary costs that come with a hotel, including having to go out to eat for every meal, parking, resort fees, and more. It’s very possible to find a clean and comfortable vacation home that checks all of the boxes for much less than a hotel.

Ask your vacation planner about the different categories that their homes fall into so that you can get an idea of everything you can expect for the price you’re willing to pay. And if you consider all the money you’ll save just by cooking meals at home, you can already afford to upgrade to that luxury home you’ve had your eye on.

Also, remember that the price of your rental is based on when you’re coming. If you come during peak seasons, expect to pay higher rates. If you can come in slower times like September or October, you can really find some good deals. If possible, being flexible in your travel dates can also help you get the home you want for the price you want.

If you go on vacation and don’t take a bunch of creative and artsy Instagram-worthy selfies, did you even go on vacation? Orlando is a vibrant city, a combination of theme parks and natural beauty. It’s a classic city where you can find ice cream shops overlooking a lake, and then drive 15 minutes down the road and be at the Happiest Place On Earth. As you explore this incredible city, don’t forget to stop by these seven “no filter needed” spots to catch a great shot.

In Front Of The Castle

This is, of course, the most popular photo spot at Disney. The incredible castle makes a stunning backdrop, day or night, for a classic Disney selfie. Did you know multiple places around the castle offer different perspectives of Cinderella’s humble abode? There’s the angle from Liberty Square Bridge, the classic shot from Main Street, and a fresh view from the Frontierland Walkway. Try them all to capture the castle (and your adorable Mickey ears) from many angles.

In Front Of The Hogwarts

Unless you’ve stood in front of it, there are no words to describe the feeling you get from experiencing the magic of Hogwarts and everything else in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The incredibly detailed structure makes an excellent backdrop for a great selfie. Or prop your ice cold cup of Butterbeer on the landing of the bridge and take an artistic shot of Harry’s favorite drink in front of the famous school

Lake Eola

Lake Eola is where locals go to get away from the traffic and crowds of the park. Head to Downtown Orlando and stroll the .9 mile loop around the gorgeous lake and take in the sights and sounds of Orlando’s vibrant city center. Stop at the Relax Cafe or grab a coffee at one of the many boutique coffee shops in the area. The most insta-worthy shot at Lake Eola is definitely the bandshell stage. Painted in the bright colors of the rainbow in the wake of the Pulse tragedy, this bright spot in the middle of Downtown is a visual representation of Orlando’s diversity, community, and love for the arts.

Old Town

Old Town is a fun, and classic Kissimmee hotspot, a family-friendly area of restaurants, shops and even rides that the whole family can enjoy. Walk the sidewalks, browse the shops, and, if you’re brave enough, board the giant slingshot and catapult yourself into the air! We don’t recommend taking a selfie on the slingshot, but Old Town is packed with cool nooks and crannies that make for a great shot

Lakefront Park

Another beautiful and more natural spot for a selfie is Lakefront Park in Downtown Kissimmee. This sprawling park sits on the water, has big grassy fields perfect for picnics or a family game of kickball. There are pavilions and a quiet walkway out to a lighthouse. This pathway along the water is a great spot for a selfie and allows you to capture the natural beauty of Kissimmee.

Downtown Kissimmee

Downtown Kissimmee makes you feel like you’ve been transported to a simpler and quieter time. It’s a small, calm city center with locally owned boutiques, beautiful parks, patio cafes and mom and pop shops that have been in business for decades. Just walking the streets of Downtown Kissimmee provides plenty of opportunities for a great selfie. The Monument of the States is a cool place for a picture, as well as under the Toho Square sign in the middle of downtown. And while it’s not the greatest spot for a selfie, we can’t talk about Downtown Kissimmee without mentioning Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ. You’ve got to try it. Hands down, one of the best BBQ joints in the area.

What You Need To Know About Coming To Florida For Halloween

The Orlando area does not disappoint when it comes to both terrifying and family-friendly attractions during Halloween. From haunted houses that will make your heart race to kid-friendly trick or treating venues, Orlando is one of the coolest places to spend the spookiest season of the year.

Regardless of which Orlando events you want to be a part of, you can’t wait until the last minute to book your accommodations. Everything fills up by the first or second week of October; so if you are planning on coming, don’t wait any longer to make plans!

Halloween Horror Nights

For 27 years, fear-loving visitors have been chased with chainsaws down the streets of Universal Studios, waited in long lines to be terrified, and experienced some of the most horrifying haunted houses around. The theme park spares no expense when it comes to creating a frightening experience for all who dare to enter. This year, the theme is The Festival of the Deadliest, featuring four brand new haunted houses. Tickets range from $60-$85, and extras like express passes and R.I.P tours are suggested add-ons. The bone-chilling event runs on select nights until November 4th.

Locals say there seem to be more underage visitors than in years past, and a change to the alcohol policy has been implemented. Overall, however, it’s still the thrilling haunted adventure that Universal is famous for.

If you’re looking for something less touristy but just as creepy, check out DRIP’S Underground Vampire Bar. This unique experience is held in a warehouse-like setting and features a frightening live theatrical show, live music, dancing, and a up close and personal encounter with Orlando’s scariest vampires.

Other local events like Thornton Park’s 4th annual Halloween Block Party, Halloween themed pub crawls downtown, and a Zombie Ball allow visitors to get into the Halloween spirit without having to visit the theme parks

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

For a much more low-key, family-friendly Halloween experience, Disney is the place to go. Held in the Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights until November 1st and is $74 per ticket. This after-dark special event allows children to trick ‘or treat throughout the Magic Kingdom in their favorite Halloween costume.

Many iconic Disney rides will stay open during this time, giving your family the unique opportunity to experience the Magic Kingdom’s famous rides after the sun goes down. Get a front row seat for the not-so-spookiest Halloween parade you’ll ever see, sing and dance with the Sanderson sisters, and end the night with a spectacular Happy Hallowishes Fireworks Show.

Sea World’s Halloween Spooktacular

This is another kid-friendly event that allows the whole family to trick or treat during daylight hours. Little ones will squeal with delight as they meet their friends from Sesame Street, and the whole family can sing, dance and laugh along with the Halloween themed live shows. And of course, visitors of all ages are encouraged to collect goodies and sweets as they explore this aquatic-themed park! This event is included in park admission and runs on select nights until October 29th.

Halloween At Old Town

Even here in Kissimmee, things can get pretty creepy around Halloween. The 6th Annual Haunt At Old Town features scare zones, haunted houses, and a zombie apocalypse! There is something for everyone in the family to enjoy, trick or treating and costume contest to a car decorating competition.

From Vampire Bars to kid-friendly costume parades, Orlando is a hot-spot for Halloween activities. If you’re still looking for a place to stay during the Halloween season, we still have some luxury condos and single-family homes available! Click here to check them out!

Out With The Old- In With The New At Disney

Saying goodbye is bitter sweet, so Disney is trying to make saying good bye to some of it’s most iconic rides by lifting black out dates for pass holders. In a move never done before by the park, black-out dates will be lifted for the month of August so pass holders can ride The Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios and Ellen’s Energy Adventure at Epcot one final time.

The rides are set to close for good Aug 13th, but the black out dates for pass holders was initially supposed to run until the 11th, only giving pass holders a few days to get one final ride. Disney has lifted the block out dates for the month of August for all four of it’s parks, giving everyone some times to say goodbye to some of the parks’ oldest rides.

All good things come to an end, but the closing of these rides is opening up space for something the whole family will love. The Great Movie Ride will be replaced with Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, where you’ll step through the screen and into Mickey and Minnie’s crazy and colorful cartoon world. With incredible special effects, this crazy adventure will turn you into the star of the beloved Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts that everyone loves.

Ellen’s Energy Adventure will be transformed into something a little more futuristic; a Guardians of the Galaxy ride. Not much is known about this new ride except it’ll be an e-ticket attraction and it’ll be different from the Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disney California Adventure. And rumor is that Groot and Rocket will be standing front and center for meet and greets that the whole family will get excited about.

Even if you’re not an annual pass holder, the news of these new rides means big changes to how you’ll experience Disney the next time you’re here. And speaking of new rides, Disney has recently announced multiple additions
to enhance the magical experience including:

If there is a Disney vacation in your future, you must checkout all the new rides and experiences at each of the parks as soon as you can.The crowds will calm down in the beginning of next year making January or February a great time to plan a trip and experience all of the new magic Disney has to offer.
